Digital Images displays photographs by Ron Reznick arranged in Wildlife, Scenic, Garden and Art Galleries. The result of many years of shooting, processing and preparation of images; and research, writing and creation of web pages, this website houses 20,000 images on 450 pages.
All content is copyrighted. Image licenses or prints can be purchased through my Photoshelter website (banners and direct links are on each Gallery page).

Wildlife, Scenic, Garden and Art images are organized in sections, primarily by venue. Most of the Portfolios and Galleries contain thoroughly researched and captioned images. An Index to the section and subsection headers in the Image Galleries is immediately below.
The Wildlife section portfolios are organized by location, but there are species-specific pages in the Wildlife Studies section, and the Photoshelter Wildlife Collections are organized by species and type.

The Sepulveda Wildlife Refuge section is a compilation portfolio with 675 images separated into 10 pages which detail: Coots and Grebes; Cormorants; Ducks and Geese; Egrets and Herons; Hummingbirds; Pelicans; Phoebes and Blackbirds; Raptors and Assorted Wildlife. There is a page added to this section on the Common Loon, taken in Wolfeboro NH, placed here since there was no other place for it. Many pages also have supporting images from other venues.

The Yellowstone National Park section is a detailed portfolio containing several multi-page sections with hundreds of images on Wildlife and Scenery of Yellowstone. It compiles sections from the Animals Wildlife Studies on Bears, Elk, Pronghorn and Bison, a section with 4 pages on Bighorn Sheep, Coyote, Moose, Deer and River Otter, and the Wyoming Scenic section detailing scenic areas of Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Also included is a new six page section on the Birds of Yellowstone National Park.

The Alaskan Wildlife section contains 475 images on 15 pages detailing Coastal Brown Bears, Eagles, Puffins and other wildlife from Lake Clark National Park, near Cook Inlet, Alaska. It also displays Alaskan Scenery including Duck Island, Silver Salmon Creek and Denali National Park.

The Hollywood and Assorted LA page contains images of the Hollywood Sign, three of Sid Grauman’s historic theaters on Hollywood Boulevard, the new face of Hollywood and Highland, two famous props at Universal Studios Hollywood (the Spinosaurus and the Terminator), the Witch House and O’Neill House in Beverly Hills, the famous Venice Canals, and a few assorted images from Los Angeles, California.
The Scenic Potpourri page contains 75 images of sunrises and sunsets, lakes, waterfalls and scenery from California’s Sierras and New York’s Catskill Mountains, Carmel Mission, Santa Barbara Mission, and the Santa Barbara Presidio, and assorted images from California, Wolfeboro NH, and Vancouver.

The Arizona section houses 186 images on an Overview page and four section pages, including the Grand Canyon, Assorted Arizona (Sedona, Williams, Lake Havasu, and Sinagua Sites), plus Canyon de Chelly and Antelope Canyon pages from the Indian Lands and Anasazi Sites section.
The Raptors Study contains more than 600 images of Eagles, Hawks, Falcons, Harriers, Owls, White-Tailed Kites and Osprey from Wildlife Refuges and other locations across the United States, separated into six sections and 14 pages.

The Hawaiian Scenery page contains 33 images of Black Sand Beaches and Lava Flows, Kilauea, the Puna Coast, Waianuenue Falls, Pu'uhonua o Honaunau and Liliuokalani Gardens.
The Wyoming Scenic section contains 200 images of scenery from Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, housed on five pages plus an Overview index page.

185 images from Washington DC on six pages. The Overview page has samples from each of the five section pages: the US Capitol Building; the Washington Monument, Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials; the National Mall (including the Vietnam and World War II Memorials and the Smithsonian Institution); Assorted images from Washington DC (including Memorials, the White House and Union Station); and Arlington National Cemetery. Two thirds of available Washington DC images are displayed.

The 21 page Bosque del Apache section houses over 1100 images compiled from over twenty thousand images taken during more than 20 visits to the Refuge over a period of several years.
Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge is next to the Rio Grande beside the foothills of the Chupadera Mountains, 18 miles south of Socorro, New Mexico. Located at 5000 feet on the western arm of the Central Flyway, the migration route on the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains, Bosque del Apache is a wintering site for over 12,000 Sandhill Cranes and over 30,000 Snow Geese, plus Eagles, Hawks, Falcons, Egrets, Herons, waterfowl, shorebirds, deer, coyotes, and other wildlife. Bosque del Apache in the winter is one of the most fascinating wildlife locations in the United States.
The Bolsa Chica section has five pages with over 340 bird images from the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, Ballona Creek, and Newport Back Bay. There are separate pages displaying flight and portrait photographs of Egrets, Herons, Skimmers & Grebes; Terns; Shorebirds; Ducks and Pelicans; and Hawks, a Peale’s Peregrine and several other birds.

The Yosemite National Park section is a compilation of images from a number of visits in the spring, summer and autumn over a period of six years. 750 images on 21 pages of Yosemite Valley, Waterfalls, Rivers and Creeks, Rim Points, Wildlife and Plant Life. There are also pages on Sequoia NP, Bodie Ghost Town, Mono Lake and Mariposa.

My most extensive single-species Wildlife Portfolio, the Sandhill Cranes Wildlife Study contains eight pages. This Overview page has selected images from each of the seven section pages and display composites linking to the section pages, housing over 300 images housed in 7 section pages: Takeoffs; Takeoff Sequences; Flight; Landings; Fall Plumage and Mating Dance; Scenic and Assorted Images, and Composites.
The Hummingbirds Wildlife Study contains 68 portraits, flight shots and flight studies of the Anna’s Hummingbird, the Allen’s Hummingbird, and the Green Violet-eared Hummingbird, including two composites showing rare images of the Anna’s Hummingbird courtship ritual.

The England section is two pages containing 120 images of central London, Leeds Castle and Penshurst in Kent. The section includes 48 images taken in the British Museum, concentrating on Roman, Asian, Egyptian, Polynesian and Native American sculpture. Each image is thoroughly captioned with detailed historical and subject information.

European Travel Portfolios

These four portfolios are each extensively researched and captioned. Each portfolio contains numerous images, organized into related sections.
The Rome Portfolio is 750 images on 24 pages, organized into subsections on the Forums, Scenery, and Churches.
The Florence Portfolio is 615 images on 12 pages plus indexes, organized into subsections on the Duomo, other Churches, Palazzo Vecchio, Sculpture, Scenery and the Boboli Gardens at Palazzo Pitti.
The Siena Portfolio is over 140 images on three pages detailing some of the Scenery of the medieval city center and the Exterior Facade and Interior Art and Architecture of the Romanesque Gothic Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta.
The Bruges Portfolio is over 300 images on six pages detailing some of the Scenery and Architecture of one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe, the Venice of the North.

The Japan section is one of my most extensive portfolios. Thoroughly researched in an exhaustive project requiring hundreds of hours, each image is captioned with detailed information. Nearly 1300 images are presented in this 36 page section, organized in subsections on Castles, Shrines, Temples and Scenery.

The Southwest section is a compilation portfolio containing 36 pages on Indian Lands and Anasazi Sites in the Four Corners region, plus National Park and state park scenery in Utah, New Mexico and Arizona. Each multi-page section has an Overview Index which contains sample images from each section page.
The Southwest section contains more than 2000 images.

The Flight Study is a compilation portfolio containing 100 images and multi-image flight studies from several venues across the United States, with links to pages which contain related images. Hummingbirds, Bald Eagles and other Raptors, Cormorants, Geese, Cranes, and other birds are displayed in images of takeoffs and landings, hunting flight, scenic flight shots and Flight Studies.
The Ducks, Geese and Swans Wildlife Study is a compilation portfolio housing over 675 images. The section on Ducks contains an Overview page with sample images and links to five section pages which display 267 images of Ducks and Teals. The section on Geese contains an Overview page, an extensive six page section on Snow Geese, and a page on Canada Geese and Domestic Geese. The Swans page displays 43 images of Mute Swans, Trumpeter Swans and Tundra Swans.

The Egrets and Herons Study has an Overview page and 4 pages on Snowy Egrets; Great Egrets, Reddish Egrets and Cattle Egrets; Great Blue and Little Blue Herons; Black-Crowned Night Herons and Yellow-Crowned Night Herons, Green Herons and Tricolored Herons.
The Pelican Wildlife Study displays 100 images of Brown, White and Pink-Backed Pelicans, including takeoffs, flight shots, portraits, and behavioral shots taken in California and Florida.

The Getty Museum section is a compilation portfolio containing over 400 images selected from several visits to the Getty Center in the hills above Brentwood, California. The Getty Center is a $1.3 Billion complex of steel and travertine which houses a superb collection of art. The Getty is the richest museum in the world, having inherited the J. Paul Getty oil fortune, and it houses its collection in two locations: the Getty Center and the Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades. The art in this section includes some of the ancient sculpture which was later moved to the Getty Villa.

The Getty Villa section contains 150 images of ancient Sculptures, Funerary Art and Decorative Art from the Getty Villa on 2 separate pages. The Overview page contains some sample images from each page and a Display Composite leading to each page.
The Norton Simon Museum section contains three pages of sculptures and paintings from the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, California, including sculptures by Rodin, Asian sculptures, and Late Medieval to Modern paintings. The Index page houses sample images from each page.
The LA County Museum of Art section displays 250 images on four pages, along with an Overview Index which displays sample images from each section page, showing sculpture, paintings, decorative art and scenery from the museum grounds and the La Brea Tar Pits.
The Rodin Compilation Portfolio contains two pages with 88 images compiled from the LA County Museum of Art and Norton Simon Museum sections plus an Overview Index. The pages display the Burghers of Calais & Studies; and the Thinker and other Figures.

A detailed presentation of automobiles from the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The Concours d’Elegance section is separated into 3 pages on Italian Cars: 1921-2005, Assorted Cars: 1900-1928, and Assorted Cars: 1929-2005 plus an Overview page which has sample images from each section page and a display composite linking to the page. Images are supported by extensively-researched historical and descriptive information.

The Italian Art section contains over 160 images selected from the Florence and Rome Portfolios, separated into two pages plus the Section Overview, which contains sample images from each page. This section contains secular and religious art from the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque periods, including representative samples from some of the most famous artists of these periods. The Florence and Rome Portfolios house 1400 images, including a wide variety of architecture, art and sculpture from ancient times to the Baroque period (1600-1725) and scenery from Florence and Rome.

The Insect Studies section contains two subsections with over 300 macro images of Insects. Macro photography presents special challenges and offers a glimpse into a truly different world.
The Butterflies section contains over 150 images of butterflies, caterpillars and a Cecropia moth, mostly taken in Southern California, although there are a few shots from Yosemite National Park and New Mexico. The Butterflies section contains three pages and an Overview page which has sample images from each page.
The Insect Macros section contains 150 images of Bees, Flies, Dragonflies and Damselflies, Katydids, Apache Cicadas, Ladybugs, Mantises, Spiders and other insects on two pages, with detailed species information. An Overview page contains sample images from each section page.
